'Ek Nari Ek Brahmachari' is a 1971 Indian Hindi-language comedy film, produced by P. Gangadhar Rao Jothee Navshakthee Combines and directed by K. Pratyagatma. It stars Jeetendra and Mumtaz, with music composed by Shankar Jaikishan. The film is remake of the Telugu film 'Brahmachari' (1968).
Plot
Mohan Kumar S. Chaudhary (Jeetendra) is a student who is a devout worshiper of Lord Hanuman and vows celibacy. Neena (Mumtaz) his classmate quite likes his nobleness. Once, they move to a picnic where unintentionally Mohan misplaces Neena's locket. So, as remorseful he replaces it with his pendant. Thereby, his naughty friends take a photograph and also forge a love letter to Neena as Ramakrishna. Raisaheb Surajbhan Chaudhary his father (Sohrab Modi) a domineering person is annoyed by Mohan's behavior. Hence, he plans to knit Mohan with Mala (Aruna Irani) daughter of Thakur Chandan Singh (Mukri) the beau to Mohan's friend Jugal Kishore (Jagdeep). Here, Mohan sends Jugal as an alternative and they are coupled up. In the meantime, Neena squeezes out her love when Mohan scorns the woman and she flounces out, vowing to marry him. After a few days, as a flabbergast, Neena arrives at Raisahib's residence along with a baby claiming that Mohan had deceived her. Immediately, Mohan rushes when she shows the love letter & pendant as proof and residence. Mohan greatly tries to expose her but fails. Now, Raisaheb & his wife Rajlaxmi (Durga Khote) decide to espouse Mohan & Neena officially when they call their elder son Rajkumar (Shatrughan Sinha) & his wife (Renu Joshi). Then, Rajkumar recognizes Neena also intimidates which Mohan overhears and seeks for truth where Neena spins back. Rajkumar betrayed her elder sister Geeta (Mallika) who has died giving birth to this kid. Before dying, Geeta takes a word from Neena to make the child legitimate for which she has made the play. At last, Rajkumar reforms when Neena is about to quit Mohan dedicates his celibacy to her. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Mohan & Neena.
